Dec 08,  · "AR" suffix on labels indicates pressing from Allied Record Company Another Allied pressing of Sparks - In Outer Space exists without the Jane Wiedlin label credit for backing vocals on two tracks. Issued with full-size, black & white lyrics/credits/photo inner-sleeve/5(88).

Sparks' 12th album got off to the best possible start when the first single, "Cool Places," a breakneckedly breezy duet with the Go-Go's' Jane Wiedlin, spun off to become the Mael brothers' first ever Top 50 hit in their American homeland. Release. In Outer Space became one of Sparks' most successful albums in the U.S. It peaked at No. 88 on the Billboard albums chart, and built upon the success of the band's previous two albums. In France, the non-album single "Modesty Plays" (originally conceived for the TV series Modesty Blaise) was added and included as the final track). "Cool Places" was released as the first single.

So I dusted this one off tonight to give it the first listen in many years. Being a lover of '80s synthpop and new wave, I've long had a fondness for the dancey, poppy singles here: "Cool Places," the ironic duet with Jane Wiedlin (and the first Sparks song I ever heard in my life), and the funny "All You Ever Think About is Sex" (with a stupidly hilarious video to boot).

Think about the places we've had our little fun In the church at Christmas, busted by that nun Then in that museum, beneath the Mastodon Stating our positions on the White House lawn [Chorus:] All you ever think about is sex All you ever think about exclusively All you ever think about is sex, all right with me Say, do you remember the Dodgers.
